A quick note on blocking.
As our acting pertains to blocking, we should not worry how to set up our blocking. As the actor, I must be able to live without worrying about where I should be standing. After we are able to let it live a natural blocking may happen. The director may give you some extra blocking and that is his job, not yours. As the director, make sure you give your actors the chance to live first. If not, you may take away something that could have been brilliant. Now if there is fighting or things that may be harmful for the actors, then sure work on it as if it were a dance so that it can be done without focusing on it. Just as our acting, we work on our techniques, and our dialogue and we are so familiar with the scene so that we can then let go, and do away with the technique. Or to the audience it looks like we have no training so that you can not see any acting. We are not thinking of our dialogue during the scene, we are truly talking and listening so that we can live in the moment. Trust that you have done the work.
